Division Chief of Cardiac Anesthesiology, Academic Clinician - CHOP
The University of Pennsylvania's Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Division Chief of Cardiac Anesthesiology, an academic clinician role at the Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will lead the division, oversee clinical operations, and contribute to research and education in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology.

Responsibilities
Developing systems for mentoring faculty and staff in the division to promote productive, rewarding careers and academic advancement
Provision of clinical anesthesia and medical direction in the Cardiac Operating Rooms and other anesthetizing locations at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Oversees the clinical activities of the Division and coordinates with leaders across the enterprise to optimize clinical operations
Supports numerous clinical programs, delivering over 3,100 anesthetics annually to children with congenital and acquired heart disease in the cardiac ORs, catheterization labs, and non-OR locations such as MRI
Play a pivotal role in supporting the Associate Chair of Research, the Associate Chief of Research, and the Department’s Research Council in advancing the Division’s research and academic missions
Collaborate with Departmental leaders in developing and fostering collaborative research programs, managing infrastructure to support ongoing research efforts, allocating academic time and resources, and supporting and fostering funded research within the Division and across the Department
Qualification
Required
M.D. or equivalent degree
ABA certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology
Pennsylvania licensure
Expertise in Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology
