Project Surveyor III (PLS)
Mark Thomas is seeking a Project Surveyor III who will act as a technical project leader managing complex projects throughout their lifecycle. The role involves providing oversight, coordinating with clients, supervising staff, and contributing to the professional development of the survey team.

Responsibilities
Provides project oversight with respect to deliverables, quality, schedule, and budget
Provides specific direction and instruction to field crews; provides relevant communications to other project staff, subconsultants, and clients
Performs quality checks and reviews deliverables of project team members
Coordinates with clients on the technical needs of the project – desired accuracy of topography, precise acquisition areas, etc
Coordinates the review and filing of survey deliverables with the appropriate agency
Assists the Survey Manager with project billing and invoicing responsibilities to include participating in monthly progress reporting, billing reviews, etc
Supervises assigned survey staff members; provides training and mentorship to survey team members
Participates in training, mentorship, and industry activities that contribute to the professional development of staff
Works collaboratively with survey leadership to develop best practices for the Survey Division
Provides input, suggestions, and recommendations for Division standards
Participates in proposal development and project interviews as a technical resource
Qualification
Required
PLS in state assignment or PLS in another state with the ability to obtain PLS in state of assignment within one year
6-14+ years of relevant and progressively responsible survey experience
Meets/exceeds the competencies of a Project Surveyor II
Demonstrates advanced project management skills with respect to deliverables, budget, schedule, and quality standards
Proficient with MS Office applications
Knowledge of survey drafting software
Advanced knowledge of survey calculations, principles, terms, and deliverables
Knowledge of survey processing software such as Trimble Business Center (TBC)
Advanced knowledge of survey regulations, laws, and boundary resolution
Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of survey principles and practices
Demonstrates effective written and verbal skills
Ability work on multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities
Ability to use sound judgement and follow Company standards and practices as it relates to safety
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
