Systems Administrator, Full-time, day shift, with on call
Van Diest Medical Center is seeking a Systems Administrator to design, install, support, and maintain their information systems. The role involves managing servers, networks, and databases, as well as providing helpdesk support and ensuring the security of the organization's information systems.

Responsibilities
Designs, installs, supports, and maintains the organization’s information systems server, network, desktop, and database environments
Supports and maintains the organization’s telecommunication and security environments
Works with the other Information Systems roles to ensure information systems servers, databases, networks, and desktop environments are supported to meet the organization’s business requirements
Regularly access computer systems that contain confidential and sensitive information
Supports organization hosted and cloud-based solutions including but not limited to Office 365 solutions
Maintains and supports all information systems servers and databases to meet patient and business requirements. This includes server hardware and operating systems, networks, network devices, middleware, databases, and database software within the organization’s information systems
Maintains end user security for active directory and all hospital information software
Provides troubleshooting of issues for equipment, programs and applications related to information technology
Provides timely helpdesk support for all users
Provides backup helpdesk support as required
Provides off-hour work and on-call support as scheduled
Monitors and manages server workload and database storage capacity to maintain a highly available information systems environment
In coordination with the Information Services leadership, plans and administers proper updates, backup and restoration systems and procedures
Participates in assigned projects, workgroups and committees including the organization’s security committee
In coordination with the Information Services leadership, plans, tests, coordinates, and implements the organization’s server upgrades, maintenance, and replacements
Adheres to the organization’s server and database plan, policies, and procedures, as well as best practices at all times
Tests, evaluates, and advises the Information Services Director on requests (vendor and user) impacting the network, server and database environments
Documents server and network environments in order to ensure organizational supportability
Manages and monitors security practices as they impact the organization’s desktop, server, and network environments
Completes projects and tasks as assigned by the Information Services leadership in a timely manner, as requested and within budget constraints
Perform other duties as assigned
Will be included in on-call rotation to provide support after normal business hours
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree in information technology, computer science or related field required. Equivalent experience and certifications will be considered
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English with people from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds
Ability to read and write legibly and understand/follow written and verbal directions
Requires organizational and self-motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to meet the physical requirements as outlined in the Job Requirements document
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
2-3 years experience is preferred
Prior experience in a complex data center environment, technical support and end-user support desired
Prior experience in Microsoft server systems administration desired
Prior experience desired in a broad range of technologies including Phone systems, Voice over IP, Networking, Wireless, Security of active directory environment and various applications. Cerner experience is preferred
