Marbles Kids Museum is a vibrant, nonprofit children’s museum and IMAX Theatre located in downtown Raleigh. The Studio Art Intern will collaborate with the Learning Engagement Team to plan and deliver weekly studio arts programming for children ages 0–11, gaining real-world experience in arts education.

Responsibilities

Assist with the development and facilitation of arts programming with children 0-11

Support the Learning Team in hosting Guest Star artists and programs at the museum

Incorporate learning objectives and Marbles Play Right structure into assigned programs

Conduct research and help build relationships with local artists in the Raleigh area

Assist with the maintenance and organization of program areas, including materials and equipment

Respond to emails in a timely manner and follow through on supervisor directives

Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment

Qualification

Experience working with childrenHands-on teaching methodsStudio art knowledgeClassroom managementFriendly personalityEffective communicationTeam collaboration

Required

Must be enrolled in a formal education class that requires an internship for academic credit

Experience working with children

Knowledge and understanding of diverse hands-on teaching and instructional methods

An understanding of different forms and mediums in studio art

Friendly and engaging personality

Ability to deliver content effectively in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team

Preferred

Informal teaching or classroom management with children preferred

Availability Monday and Saturday or Sundays is preferred
