Stratus® is seeking an Entry-level Environmental Scientist I to support environmental assessments, data collection, and reporting. The role involves conducting field investigations and assisting in the preparation of environmental reports under close supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist in conducting field investigations, including soil, water, and air sampling
Support the preparation of environmental reports, data tables, and figures
Collect, organize, and maintain environmental data in accordance with quality standards
Assists the senior staff with regulatory reviews and permitting processes
Perform all other duties as assigned
Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues, including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology related field
0 – 2 years relevant experience
Basic environmental science principles
Introduction to civil engineering design processes and permitting requirements
Ecological Experience in streams, wetlands, endangered species, etc
Data collection and field logging
Technical writing and the ability to contribute to the environmental sections of reports
Microsoft Office Suite and introductory GIS/CAD skills
Use in field equipment
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and scientists
Strong organization and attention to detail in both field and office tasks
Ability to work safely in field environments

Preferred

Prior internship or work experience with an engineering or consulting firm
Familiarity with GIS or environmental modeling software
