Furnace Operator I
RTX is hiring for a motivated entry level Furnace Operator I in Spokane, WA. In this position, you will be responsible for the production of carbon-carbon composite production and ensuring quality standards are met throughout all furnace operations.

Responsibilities
You will be part of a team-oriented atmosphere and interact with other functional groups (e.g., engineering) on technical matters
You will uphold process integrity and ensure quality standards are met throughout all furnace operations
You will adhere to Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) regulations and proactively identify and address safety hazards
You will follow standard operating procedures to uphold safety protocols and ensure product quality
You will utilize basic to intermediate computer skills for data entry and process monitoring
You will be able to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation, (anything over 25 lbs. would need to be lift assisted.)
You will work 4 days on/4 days off – 12-hour shifts, rotating days to nights every 6 weeks
You will gain the knowledge of all pertinent customer and company specifications including but not limited to international standards relating to the production of carbon-carbon brake components & company policies
You will learn to operate a range of support equipment including Overhead Cranes, Forklifts, Vacuums, Scissor Lifts, and Power Tools
You will learn to conduct furnace readings, rounds, and oversee process flow to maintain optimal operation
You will learn to perform equipment preventative maintenance as directed and promptly report any mechanical or safety concerns to supervisors
You will acquire knowledge of Collins and customer specifications, finished products, and relevant policies
You will be trained on the basic operations of the furnace process
You will learn to recognize issues with the process equipment tolerance limits
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a HS diploma or GED
Experience using hand tools
Preferred
Manufacturing or similar industry related experience
Experience with inventory control
Ability to prioritize tasks under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgment are required
