Subject Matter Experts (AUSME) Development Team – Student Developer & Data Analyst

The Subject Matter Experts (AUSME) Development Team is seeking a student developer and data analyst to assist with programming tasks, data analysis, and system improvements, offering hands-on experience with a real production system.

Responsibilities
Assist with the development of new AUSME system features using Python
Work with MySQL to query, update, and maintain AUSME datasets
Support server-side scripts, data pipelines, and backend processes
Use GitHub for version control, issue tracking, and collaboration
Perform data analytics tasks including dataset validation, data cleaning, data visualization, and generating usage or performance reports
Analyze Google Analytics and other system metrics to support decision-making
Help review and curate AUSME data to ensure accuracy and consistency
Collaborate with the AUSME development team to troubleshoot bugs, test new features, and ensure smooth system operation
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled Auburn University student
Preferred
Proficiency in Python (ability to write scripts, handle data, and work with APIs)
Familiarity with MySQL or other relational databases
Experience with GitHub or other version control tools
Understanding of server-side scripting or willingness to learn
Experience or interest in data analytics
Experience with Google Analytics (preferred but not required)
Highly attentive to detail
Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn new technologies
