Paralegal, Intellectual Property
LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Paralegal, Intellectual Property will support the legal team by managing clearance analysis for creative assets, drafting and reviewing intellectual property-related documents, and liaising with internal and external parties to ensure compliance and timely approvals.

Responsibilities
Engage in clearance analysis for the review of creative assets across the organization, including assisting with the drafting of documents required for necessary permissions
Assist with the drafting and reviewing of a myriad of intellectual property-related documents, including but not limited to waivers, location agreements, footage licensing agreements, and more
Interface with internal business partners and external parties to manage approval/clearance processes and manage timing expectations
Support the broader legal team in the drafting and reviewing of operational contracts, NDAs, collateral documents necessary for solicitation of RFP’s, as well as confidential correspondence, memos, contract summaries, reports, and presentations
Conduct legal research and analysis on special projects
Serve as a liaison between department heads and the legal team and take lead in identifying internal business needs requiring specialized, non-standard contractual elements
Support on other projects and assignments as may be requested by the Managing Counsel, Intellectual Property and other legal team members, including but not limited to operational contracts, rights protection workstreams, and more
Qualification
Required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with exceptional research, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent word processing and database management skills
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and experience preparing legal documents, presentations and spreadsheets
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong ability to interact diplomatically and with professional maturity with senior executives, staff and external business partners
Positive, team-oriented, and collaborative attitude
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in fast paced and dynamic environment, both autonomously and collaboratively
High level of personal integrity and professional ethics; ability to maintain absolute confidentiality, to perform duties with utmost discretion and act with complete integrity
Strong work ethic, client-service orientation, and sound judgment
Outstanding organizational skills, including ability to update and maintain contract forms, track contract negotiation progress and status through contract management system
Preferred
3+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant preferred (preferably in a large law firm and/or corporate in-house legal department)
Experience working with contract management systems, highly preferred
Paralegal certification preferred
Cover letter strongly preferred
