Barr Engineering Co. is seeking a geotechnical engineer to join their innovative and collaborative team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Engineering and Design business unit by completing geotechnical engineering projects and providing project management support.

Responsibilities

Field support: provide continuous on-site support for construction observation, subsurface investigations, in-situ testing, instrumentation installation, surveying, materials testing, and facility inspections
Project management support: assist with planning, coordinating, and executing projects. Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to project managers and clients
Technical analysis: prepare project plans and specifications, reports, and cost estimates
Geotechnical and civil analysis: complete design related to shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, seepage, bearing capacity, settlement, earth retention, and dams

Required

bachelor's degree in geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, or civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis, with coursework or research related to mine tailings and tailings storage facilities, dam engineering, or advanced soil mechanics
0–3 years of relevant experience
Willingness and ability to regularly travel
geotechnical software programs, including Geostudio, LPile, APile, gINT or BoreDM, or FLAC
possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
