Technical Specialist - Blood Bank

Responsibilities
Works with the lab supervisor, lab manager, and lab consultant director to provide direction for the technical operation of the laboratory, including operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays, and serves as an expert resource to support functions to the laboratory technologists
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, a human biological science, or within histopathology or non-testing laboratories, a bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable
Two years of relevant laboratory experience required
An HEW certification may be substituted for the specified degree
Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays
Capable of performing under time constraints, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced and changing environment
Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to work closely with others
Able to work independently
Florida State licensure in the lab specialty that testing is being performed
Ongoing education, training, and certification may be required to meet prevailing regulatory requirements
