TECHNICIAN QUALITY CONTROL

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through testing and inspections, while maintaining compliance with safety policies.

Responsibilities

Safety Compliance: Follow all Cemex, OSHA, and MSHA safety policies and wear proper PPE at all times
Product Testing: Perform ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI testing at cement and Ready Mix plants
Quality Monitoring: Verify product compliance with quality specifications and notify management of any quality deviations
Mix Design Oversight: Assist with product mix design and understand the impact of changes on kiln processes
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of tests and inspections. Prepare reports related to quality and equipment issues
Equipment & Lab Support: Perform lab housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance
Training & Reporting: Train new team members and complete audits, inspections, and reports as required
Additional Duties: Respond to callouts, participate in plant outages, and support other duties as assigned

Qualification

ASTM certificationQuality control experienceNumerical skillsComputer proficiencyASTM standardsAttention to detailMobile equipment operationTrade certificationMilitary experienceJourneyman credentials

Required

Associate's degree in applied science or at least 2 years of cement plant experience
ASTM certification (or ability to obtain within the first year)
2 to 4 years of experience in a quality-related role in the cement or heavy manufacturing industry
Strong numerical and testing skills
computer proficiency (including Excel and lab software)
attention to detail
understanding of ASTM standards
ability to operate mobile equipment

Preferred

4 years in a similar industry preferred
Associate degree or trade certification
military experience
journeyman credentials
