2026 Mechanical Engineering Intern

Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) is seeking Engineering Interns to join their team focused on developing innovative solutions for marine environments. Interns will engage in design, development, and testing of engineering projects while applying their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Responsibilities

Design Modeling (Limited level in SolidWorks)
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) – ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation
Mechanical Calculations - Manual, Excel, MathCAD
Geometric Analysis – SolidWorks/AutoCAD
Technical Writing (Procedures, Reports, Presentations)
Parts Sorting/Organization for Product Assembly
Assembly and Test Support (Engineering Liaison)
Learn about underwater technologies and Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)
Gain an understanding of the Oceaneering and OTECH organization

Qualification

Required

US Citizenship
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program (as a rising junior or senior) or a Master's degree program
Ability to work full-time during defined internship period
Good communication and organizational skills
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience working with a group or team in a technical setting

Preferred

3.0+ cumulative GPA in a STEM degree program
Academic excellence and community involvement
Familiarity with the application of current engineering software (i.e. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Matlab, etc.)
Ability to create, read, and interpret mechanical drawings
Express strong interest in engineering principles inside and outside of the classroom
