Responsibilities
Provide data analytics and visualization support for engineering and planning projects (10%)
Write scripts for data analysis for transportation projects (10%)
Conduct literature reviews and support research tasks on transportation projects (5%)
Develop online data analysis dashboards (20%)
Prepare complete technical memoranda and sections of whole research/engineering/planning reports (10%)
Independently review all routine and moderately complex analyses, manage own work and peer staff’s work output, schedule, and budget (5%)
Facilitate effective team communications with clients, agencies, consultants, and other team members (3%)
Mentor other staff on data analytics tasks (5%)
Independently manage tasks and small projects in the engineering/planning field (5%)
Attend technical meetings with clients, present analysis approach and results. (3%)
Coordinate client interactions and activity for all project-related work (2%)
Facilitate meetings with project clients and stakeholders (5%)
Make presentations at public meetings and virtual presentation (5%)
Develop repeat clients and new client referrals as a result of past performance and client interaction (2%)
Lead project pursuits and proposal preparation (10%)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)
5 years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience as a Transportation Analyst, Transportation Data Analyst, or similar position
3 years' experience working with transportation engineering and planning data practices and software, including operational and safety analysis methods used by public agencies at the state and local level
3 years' experience in transportation data analysis with expertise in processing and evaluating large and complex data sets from connected vehicle data, probe data, origin-destination data, and sensor data
3 years' experience writing and executing custom scripts for analysis and process automation using Python, VBA or similar scripting language
3 years' experience with transportation-related software packages – ArcGIS, FREEVAL, VISSIM, and Synchro
One Year Experience Developing web-based dashboards and visualizations for data analytics, using Tableau and PowerBI
One Year Experience Developing custom web tool interfaces using JavaScript or similar programming language
One Year Experience Developing statistical models and working with statistical programs such as SPSS, R, or NLOGIT
One Year Experience with spreadsheet processing, macro writing, and experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project
Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to conduct analyses, generate reports, and prepare presentations in the context of transportation engineering and planning projects for government agencies
