Responsibilities
Produce conceptual fire sprinkler and standpipe designs in Revit (2D and 3D)
Produce conceptual designs for water supplies including fire pumps and water storage tanks
Consult with clients on sizing underground fire water mains
Prepare hydraulic calculations
Evaluate flow tests and system demands to determine if the water supply is adequate
Size fire pumps and water storage tanks when the water supply is not adequate
Interpret and apply NFPA standards (NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, and 22)
Learn to navigate NFPA 72 (fire alarm), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), UFC Standards, FM Data Sheets, and the International Building Code (IBC)
Review contractor submittal packages and approve or provide feedback and direction to contractors
Conduct site inspections to ensure systems were constructed in accordance with designs
Work directly with our engineering team to solve design challenges and provide creative solutions
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Designer
Proficiency in Revit (required)
Knowledge of NFPA codes and general fire protection design standards
Ability to perform hydraulic calculations
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of managing deadlines
Preferred
NICET certification is a plus
Experience with Hydracad Calculations is a plus
