Responsibilities
Audit current processes and liaise with manufacturing engineering and plant personnel; instruct, train and improve people and processes with a continuous improvement mindset
Develop a system of managing problem identification, root cause analysis, potential solutions and recommendations with an emphasis on closed-loop problem solving
Creating and managing time studies that involve a systematic process of observation, data collection, and analysis to establish standard times for tasks. The ultimate goal is to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, and optimize workflows
Create process flow mapping, statistical reporting, and data-rich resources for the engineering team in order to create actionable projects that positively influence safety, quality, cost and delivery
Develop and implement QA/QC processes, procedures, and specifications to meet quality and safety standards
Lead root cause analyses using structured problem-solving tools (5-Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to address defects and non-conformances
Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) by driving cross-functional teams to implement lasting solutions
Conduct inspections, testing, and internal audits to maintain compliance with industry and company standards
Collect, analyze, and report key quality metrics (defect rates, process capability, etc.) to monitor and improve performance
Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs
Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles through continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events
Design and improve production layouts, workflows, and material flow for maximum efficiency
Perform capacity planning and time studies to set production standards and align with schedules
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by collaborating with design engineers on manufacturability and coordinating trial runs
Partner with design, production, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure quality and efficiency goals are met across the product lifecycle
Act as a liaison between production teams and engineering for quality and training matters
Develop and deliver training to production staff on new processes, equipment, and quality protocols
Prepare reports and present project progress, findings, and improvement recommendations to leadership
Qualification
Required
0–5 years in a manufacturing and/or quality environment
Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab) and quality management software
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Detail-oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
Experience with SolidWorks
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
