Responsibilities
Scheduling the collection of waste
Assisting in cleaning the chemical storage, mechanical, or shop areas
Ensuring lights are working properly
Moving boxes, furniture, equipment, and supplies and hanging pictures
Remodeling county buildings
Performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs
Performing monthly fire safety inspections of elevators
Maintaining daily records of work performed
Assisting personnel with parts and tools
Installing wire, cables, plumbing and electrical outlets and communicating with other departments
Performing daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance checklists
Performing other related duties as assigned
If assigned to the jail facility, Maintenance Specialists will also be expected to assist technicians with touchscreen controls, cameras, intercoms and security controls, as needed
Qualification
Required
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes
No experience is required
Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school
