Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, educating, coordinating, and controlling the activities of all admitting, registration, financial counseling, training and scheduling functions within the Medical Center
Primarily concerned with obtaining accurate, complete, and consistent demographic, financial, and clinical data during all registration processes
Following up on all scheduled visits that are PFS’s responsibility and managing the authorization and pre-cert process for inpatient and outpatient services
Qualification
Required
Four to six years Patient Access experience
Two to three years in a supervisory position
Ability to plan, direct, and control Patient Access functions
Good command of medical terminology
Problem solving abilities
PC experience must include Microsoft Office and Windows
Knowledgeable of payer requirements related to Patient Access (CMS, DHHS, BCBS and other Managed Care organizations)
Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with patients, doctors, and other departments in the institution
