Little Leaf Farms is focused on greenhouse operations, and they are seeking a Waste Area Technician to support the organic waste removal processes. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety

Perform daily start up and shut down of equipment and processes related to greenhouse organic waste removal

Perform preventative maintenance on equipment associated with organic waste removal including but not limited to: greasing bearings, checking oil levels, cleaning and calibrating electronic level sensors, checking conveyor belts and screw augers, writing repair work orders, etc

Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of peat press, centrifuge, and centrifugal pumps

Make necessary pvc plumbing repairs

Ensure equipment runs optimally to support greenhouse operations and throughput

Assist groundskeeping with removal of waste peat if needed

Adapt to changing environment and work pace dependent upon throughput needs

Performs other duties as assigned
