Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Research Lab Support Tech to perform technical laboratory support services required by the department. This role involves maintaining lab supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed while assisting with various laboratory tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

Performs research support services requested including: cleaning laboratory space and lab equipment, maintaining supply and kit inventories, equipment maintenance and calibration records, cleaning and decontaminating research areas

Troubleshoots problems and follows standard operation procedures (SOPs) to handle problems, such as equipment failures, sample shipping logistics; Contacts appropriate services for assistance, and documents and reports appropriately to supervisor or service provider

Monitors facility for safety, environmental or physical problems and takes necessary action to report and/or resolve problem working with building management orders and maintains appropriate inventory of lab supplies

Orders, distributes supplies and maintains appropriate inventory of lab supplies and research kits

Ensures correct disposal of laboratory waste per regulatory agencies and department safety protocols

Maintains required documentation of work performed as instructed by supervisor or SOP. Helps develop SOPS

Plans and assists laboratory or administrative staff with special projects as needed, such as relocating equipment, setting up for special events, preparing shipments, etc
