Retail Staff Accountant - Intern

InternClayton Homes of Opelousas is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Retail Staff Accountant Intern to join their team. The intern will gain hands-on experience in general ledger accounting functions and reconciliations, providing support in financial reporting and various accounting projects.
Responsibilities
Assist in executing daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger procedures
Support the Retail and GAAP close processes
Assist with GL account reconciliations
Help maintain fixed asset records and assist with journal entries as needed
Support P&L analysis and reporting activities
Provide general administrative support related to accounting functions and projects
Work closely with accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Extensive Excel knowledge and application
Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated, flexible, and a team player
Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
Preferred
Familiarity with Sequel Viewpoint, Cognos, Access, or other financial software is a plus
Knowledge of Global Financial Software and/or Oracle ERP is preferred, but not required
