Responsibilities

Loads specimen and quality control material for testing on instruments, records the receipt of reagent and supply shipments, loads reagents and appropriate documentation, and performs routine instrument maintenance, specimen banking/storage and disposal

Helps resolve problems and answer pre-analytical procedural questions. Serves as a resource to laboratory customers

Accessions specimens, enters results, retrieves information, enters results

Collects specimens for lab testing. Has knowledge of special specimen collection and handling requirements for specific populations, e.g. infants, pediatric and geriatric patients. Processes specimens for lab testing according to laboratory procedures

Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Performs maintenance. Performs waived testing and EKG testing. Trains phlebotomy students and employees
