Workday Payroll Administrator

Megger is seeking a Workday Payroll Administrator responsible for managing and processing payroll using the Workday HCM platform. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll while maintaining compliance with regulations and supporting system management and integration efforts.

Responsibilities

Maintain, configure, and optimize the Workday Payroll module to support company policies and legal requirements
Ensure Workday HCM and Payroll configurations remain aligned with business processes
Execute on-cycle and off-cycle payroll runs
Process payroll-related transactions, including hires, terminations, compensation changes, benefit updates, and garnishments
Validate earnings, deductions, taxes, and time entry to ensure accuracy
Conduct routine data audits to confirm the accuracy of employee information and time-tracking entries
Perform reconciliations and verify payroll outputs before final approval
Stay current on federal, state, and local wage and tax laws
Prepare and submit payroll reports and tax filings
Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews
Serve as a subject matter expert for employees and managers on payroll, time tracking, deductions, and Workday self-service functions
Respond to payroll inquiries and provide training as needed
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT to integrate Workday with internal systems and third-party vendors (e.g., benefits carriers, accounting systems)
Support data flows and troubleshoot integration issues
Participate in testing and validating Workday’s semiannual updates and new feature releases
Support system enhancements, configuration changes, and process improvements

Required

Minimum of 3 years of Workday payroll experience
Hands-on experience with Workday HCM and Payroll modules, including configuration, audits, reporting, and business processes
Strong knowledge of full-cycle payroll processing, tax compliance, wage laws, and payroll best practices
Ability to troubleshoot functional and technical payroll issues
Strong data analysis, validation, and reconciliation skills
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity

Preferred

Workday Payroll Certification is highly preferred
Experience with Workday Time Tracking, Benefits, and other HCM modules
Experience with multi-state payroll
Bachelor's (Preferred)
Workday Payroll: 3 years (Preferred)
OSV Payroll: 3 years (Preferred)
Full-Cycle Payroll Processing: 3 years (Preferred)
Tax Compliance: 3 years (Preferred)
Wage Laws: 3 years (Preferred)
