Responsibilities
Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Sportsbook product engineering organization, aligned with the overall Sportsbook Engineering strategy
Collaborate with Sportsbook Core Engineering and Sportsbook Product team to define sportsbook product engineering goals, metrics, and ways of working
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent, building a high-performing team
Oversee the design and development of innovative and performant customer experiences
Implement best practices for product engineering to deliver incremental customer value every two weeks, including CI/CD
Ensure high quality and performance of sportsbook customer experiences, supported by the Sportsbook Core Engineering teams, and minimizing downtime during critical events
Support Sportsbook Core Engineering in driving compliance with gaming regulations and security standards across all sportsbook systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on product engineering and delivering customer value
5+ years of leadership experience in a senior engineering role, such as Director or VP of Engineering
Proven experience with leading geographically dispersed teams
Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams that can deliver incremental customer value every two weeks
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Deep experience with Lean, Agile, and Continuous Delivery principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Passion for technology and innovation, with a continuous learning mindset
Expert in aligning engineering investment with customer outcomes and business metrics
Strong business acumen and understanding of how product engineering impacts overall business success
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
Knows when to apply structure and when to remove friction—no 'process for process's sake'
Prior experience in managing a diverse office or location, with a focus on cross-functional leadership and operational excellence
Proven ability to create, manage, and drive initiatives that enhance workplace culture, ensuring a healthy and productive environment
Experience in creating programs and policies that boost employee morale and reduce turnover. Ability to lead efforts in inclusion initiatives
Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for office presence, growth and development, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
