Responsibilities
Own structural design packages for utility-scale solar/BESS: equipment platforms and skids, inverter/transformer/PCS pads, racking/tracker foundations (piles/piers/mats), cable-tray and site steel
Run and document calculations (wind/seismic/uplift/lateral/settlement) to ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC; translate geotech data into foundation criteria and designs
Produce and review drawings/specs (plans, sections, connection details) from 30/60/90% through IFC; perform/redline QA/QC and coordinate with CAD/BIM teams
Model and analyze in STAAD.Pro/Robot and L-PILE (or equivalent); maintain traceable calc packages and design assumptions
Coordinate daily with project managers and civil, electrical, and geotechnical disciplines to align scope, schedule, and budget; respond to RFIs and vendor/shop drawings
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred)
6–10 years of structural analysis and design experience with steel and concrete; direct utility-scale solar/BESS experience strongly preferred
Proficiency with STAAD.Pro or Autodesk Robot and L-PILE (or equivalent foundation tools); strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D literacy for plan production/markups
Working knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC; ability to convert geotechnical reports into practical, buildable designs
EIT required; PE preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months)

Substation/T-line structures (equipment supports, bus/frames, drilled/spread footings)
PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/FAD Tools for occasional T&D interfaces
Owner/agency review cycles, permitting submittals, and comment resolution
