CFO
CFS is a mission-driven organization with over 150 years of service in the New Haven community, and they are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to inspire change and support leadership. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, lead accounting functions, and ensure compliance while collaborating with the Executive Team.

Responsibilities
Serve on the Executive Team; partner closely with the CEO, COO, and Controller
Communicate effectively with staff and volunteer board members
Oversee all financial operations across skilled nursing, residential care, adult day center, transportation, and assisted living
Lead accounting functions including purchasing, tax, long-range planning, real estate, AP/AR, payroll, resident trust work, and the general ledger
Monitor and analyze Medicare/Medicaid payor mix to maximize financial outcomes
Produce financial statements and provide guidance for budgeting and forecasting
Attend board meetings and sub-committee sessions; communicate financials clearly
Ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, and all filing deadlines are met
Qualification
Required

Preferred
Healthcare experience is required, ideally in nonprofit or hospital settings
Strong experience with Medicare/Medicaid and reimbursement structures
Nonprofit background and grant experience strongly preferred
Ability to support leadership initiatives and help strengthen the organization's revenue pipeline
Someone who can inspire change and adapt to evolving priorities
