Responsibilities

Incumbent is under the direct supervision and training of the Golf Course Superintendent in the maintenance, repair and improvement of the condition of the entire playing area of the golf course

This includes, but is not limited to, direction and supervision of subordinate employees in all phases of course maintenance to include mowing, watering, fertilizing and maintaining tees, fairways, greens and roughs and all peripheral areas

Additionally, performs administrative duties related to the maintenance of the golf course and equipment used on the course. This includes ordering and receiving parts, equipment and materials for the course and equipment maintenance section

Required

Incumbent must have extensive work experience that demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform work in all phases of golf course maintenance to include one-year experience equivalent to the next lower level

Incumbent also must have experience in irrigation system repair, modification and usage

Must have a working knowledge of the chemicals and equipment used to control fungi, insects, and weeds on the golf course

Incumbent must be certified, or certifiable as pesticide applicator by the Department of Defense, in the categories required for the use of the golf course

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

A one-year probationary period may be required

Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check

Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination

Must be able to lift up to 50 Ibs and complete a pre-employment physical

Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation
