Responsibilities

Develop steel, concrete, masonry and other structural system layouts and designs under the supervision of the engineering team

Create and modify 3D CAD models

Create and modify assembly, erection, fabrication, detail, and other drawings; modify drawings based on mark-ups from Designers, Engineers, and Managers

Develop various construction documents using department standards, procedures, and details

Maintain CAD files and drawings based on standards and office procedures

Read and comprehend design drawings and equipment data sheets; analyze various design requirements and recommend possible solutions or alternate constructions

Meet all safety, budget, and schedule requirements

Assist with on-site commissioning and start-up activities

Communicate with vendors and contractors on various projects, including bid packages, ordering materials and equipment, and aiding in installation oversight

Perform site visits to measure and confirm design requirements

Provide information, when needed, for cost estimating

Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times

Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community

Required

Associate's degree or greater with emphasis in CAD Drafting preferred

Structural Designer I: No experience required

Structural Designer II: 4 or more years of overall experience with 2 or more years of experience in a related industry

Structural Designer III: 8 or more years of overall experience with 4 or more years of experience in a related industry

Structural Designer, Senior: 10 or more years of overall experience with 6 or more years of experience in a related industry

Knowledge of AutoCAD based drafting systems

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change

You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite. You're capable of learning new programs
