Responsibilities
Assist in preparing patients for endoscopic procedures
Set up and maintain endoscopy equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and functioning properly
Assist gastroenterologists and nurses during procedures, providing instruments and supplies as needed
Monitor and document patient vital signs, alerting the team to any changes
Ensure sterilization and cleanliness of instruments and procedure rooms following infection control protocols
Educate and provide instructions to patients on post-procedure care and necessary follow-up
Collaborate with other GI Techs and staff to maintain a smooth workflow and high standard of care
Maintain an inventory of supplies and prepare orders as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or G.E.D. required
BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
Preferred
An Associate of Science in surgical technology or related field is preferred
Previous experience working in the gastroenterology field is preferred
