Resident Engineer 4 Technical Support

Responsibilities
Technical prime to drive NDS (Network Design Specification) requirements with Ciena account team and Customer planning primes
Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements and then work directly with these teams to determine which Customer Initiatives will need to be captured from an architecture perspective
Help integrate required information into high quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
This includes High level architecture capture, Detailed and Low-level design capture, Golden Config capture, API interfaces and attributes to support QoS, Services provisioning, Routing Config management, statistics retrieval and telemetry, and specific maintenance actions to support the deployment in field for the cross-portfolio solution
Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications as required
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
Manage Document storage and exchange between Ciena and Customer (via Confluence, Teams, JIRA etc.)
Work with R&D and SE&I teams to ensure aspects of NDS are validated on mirror captives before bringing solution into Customer Labs
Embrace the ‘feedback loop’ by engaging with various engineering teams to transform concepts, requirements and telemetry into services and tools
Qualification
Required
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Software Developer-related occupation
Position requires 60 months of experience in the following:
IP routing in both standards-based theory and configuration and provisioning such as OSPF, BGP, ISIS, or MPLS based IP VPN's
Engineering packet transport solutions in the context of large carrier and enterprise networks
Engineering, testing or deploying networks on Carrier Ethernet or IP based platforms such as Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, or Adva
MEF based Carrier Ethernet Services
Provisioning of packet networking related technologies such as IP/MPLS, MPLS-TE, MPLS-TP, BGP, Q-in-Q, 1588v2, SynchE services, or TDM Pseudowires
Optical Transport Network (OTN), SONET/SDH, PON/FTTH, VoIP, IPTV, mobile backhaul, or 2G/3G/4G/LTE/5G
DCI, Data Center, Metro networks deployment, or Video/MSO
UNIX/LINUX and Windows system administration
