Bloom Companies, LLC is seeking a Drainage / Water Resources Engineer to join their Illinois Transportation team. The role involves leading drainage studies, stormwater design, and plan production for state-wide transportation infrastructure projects while developing client relationships and assisting in the development of junior staff.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers and drafters
Interact and coordinate effectively with team members, subconsultants, clients, and other outside agencies
Assist in the development of junior staff
Prepare design calculations and technical reports for drainage studies
Develop plans, profiles, specifications and estimates for transportation and other water resources projects
Assist with the preparation of proposals and contracts
Participate in quality control/quality assurance
Develop client relationships

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within six (6) months
8+ years of progressive experience in drainage studies and water resources design for transportation infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway policies, standards and procedures
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Bentley products (Microstation/GEOPAK/ORD, ProjectWise, StormCAD), Bluebeam Revu and Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling
Ability to work independently and take the initiative to perform tasks
Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills

Preferred

Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) is preferred but not required
