Metal Fabricator Team Lead
Whitcraft Group is a global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components, committed to operational improvement and customer service. The Metal Fabricator Team Lead will perform core sheet metal work while guiding and directing other employees to ensure that production meets customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Operate all sheet metal equipment to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets
Lead, guide and direct department work flow and personnel as needed to meet customer schedule
Check parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained
Work requires extreme accuracy with very close tolerances and critical dimensions with working knowledge of geometric tolerances
Share knowledge willingly and mentor lower level employees
Subject Matter Expert on all equipment in center
Maintain a neat and orderly work area
Promote positive employee relations, promote and demand a safe work environment
Adhere to all company policies and procedures and drive adherence to policy and procedure with direct staff
Interact with business unit leaders, engineers, materials, quality control and assigned team members
Train and communicate with employees and assist the shift supervisor in communications
Lead 6Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles within the designated work cells
Specify and purchase standard and special cutting tools and raw material for each part
Train and communicate with employees and assist the shift supervisor in communications
Provide regular performance feedback to assigned employees
Provide input to performance reviews
Other job related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
5 years relevant experience
Sheet metal fabricator certification
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations
Preferred
8+ years relevant experience
CAD/CAM experience
Possess solid mathematical skills
Self starter, independent and able to lead others in a team environment
