Responsibilities
Partner with founder on conceptual design and early schematic development
Develop and communicate design intent clearly to internal teams, consultants, and builders—from early sketches through construction administration
Maintain design vision and quality throughout all phases, serving as the creative point of contact from concept through completion
Manage design and construction workflows end-to-end, ensuring alignment between creative, technical, and execution teams
Oversee schedules, budgets, contracts, consultant coordination, and construction administration with a design-first lens
Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and CD sets to ensure consistency with design goals
Build and maintain all project documentation, including comprehensive bid packages and design deliverables
Track project costs and payments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to design standards
Regularly visit sites (domestic + international) to review progress and troubleshoot design-execution challenges
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture
8–12+ years of professional experience with demonstrated ability to take projects from concept to construction close-out
Strong design portfolio, ideally with high-end/luxury retail, hospitality, or lifestyle environments
Experience managing construction and working closely with GCs, fabricators, vendors, and trades
Expertise in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Procore, and Microsoft Office
Strong communicator able to clearly articulate design intent verbally, visually, and technically
Ability to work full time, 5 days a week in office, and flexibility for founder's schedule - sometimes working long hours or weekends
