POS Technician

The POS Technician will be responsible for installations, configurations, repairs, and troubleshooting of point-of-sale equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

Perform POS functional testing, interpretation, and analysis of test results
Assist with POS system upgrades for retail locations
Support POS software and hardware development cycle by determining user-expected behavior
Complete installations, repairs, backups, and maintenance tasks
Document detailed procedures for best practices
Remote troubleshooting through established diagnostic techniques
Prepare registers and other devices for deployment
Assist in acquisition projects as necessary (requires travel)

Required

2+ years of technical experience in helpdesk or technical customer support
Availability to work variable shifts including weekdays, weekends, holidays and some nights
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as projects require
Ability to strictly follow instructions and direction
Demonstrated ability to investigate and identify hardware, network, or software issues and take steps to resolve them with limited supervision
Experience working in ticketing systems to record issues, correspond with customers, and utilize documented methods to resolve the situation to the customer's satisfaction
Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, MS Office, and Google Suite
Able to function capably in an office environment using standard equipment (telephones, fax machines, computers, copiers, etc.)
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
Must be able to complete office-related physical activities (walking, standing, talking, hearing, pushing, reaching, seeing, stooping/crouching, depth perception, identifying colors) as needed

Preferred

Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
Experience in/knowledge of point-of-sale software
