Sr. Product Pricing Analyst

The Sr. Product Pricing Analyst will serve as the pricing interface to PLM and develop and maintain product-specific pricing strategies and information for assigned products, supporting other pricing needs within the organization.

Responsibilities

Facilitate, create, and maintain pricing strategies for specific product set that tie to overall product strategy and profitability, to include product-specific details, customer/market considerations, competitive environment, relationships between day-to-day, project, and contract price levels, and any relationships to other Corning products (solutions element, lead product, product pull-through, etc.)
Facilitate price adjustment process for assigned products:
Analyze price distribution and price realization by product set to determine if price levels are out of alignment
Analyze past quote data combined with current market knowledge to determine appropriate Floor and Base pricing level and make recommendations for changes
Analyze upcoming/potential product changes and determine any associated price adjustments that should be implemented in conjunction with the product change
Initiate price change PCNs (and support other PCN process as required)
Work with Deal Desk on project pricing or other commercial price adjustments related to assigned product set
Work with PLM to determine appropriate pricing for new products
Understand pricing systems and structures (price procedure, Variant Config vs FG pricing, automated project pricing, etc.) and ensure effective implementation of product strategy
Initiate and maintain Product Life Cycle Management pricing activities; understand product classifications and impact on pricing/quoting processes
Provide pricing/profitability analysis as required: evaluate impact of potential product changes, impact for potential material cost changes, impact of potential volume/share changes
Drive addition/inclusion of standard prices for products quoted to improve customer response time and improve internal efficiencies
Maintain expertise on competitors' pricing and strategies including competitive price data for use by pricing personnel for pricing events; work with cross-functional teams as required (supplier and receiver of information)
Participate in Game Theory exercises as required

Required

Bachelor's degree or actively enrolled pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Minimum 5 years Commercial, PLM, Pricing and/or Marketing experience
100% fluent in English; other languages a plus
Strong analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative) with ability to see the big picture as well as the individual details
Experience communicating clearly and effectively in written and spoken English to drive consensus across multiple parts of the organization
Knowledge of COC products and markets
Knowledge of or ability to understand COC pricing processes and strategies
Strong systems background focusing on MS Office products (especially Excel), SAP, and reporting

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in business or technical field highly preferred; MBA
Pricing experience with focus on diverse product set and highly competitive markets
Systems skills: Vendavo
Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to recognize the impact that present decisions have on future opportunities
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize without significant supervision
Demonstrated customer focus
Ability to articulate, support and defend strategy and decisions from senior management
Experience leading cross-functional groups without being actual supervisor
