Highland Hospital of Rochester NY is seeking a Full Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its Internal Medicine team. The role involves admitting and executing orders on adult patients requiring in-house medical coverage and conveying pertinent patient medical problems to the covering attending for treatment planning.

Responsibilities

To admit and execute orders on adult patients requiring in-house medical coverage, after resident teams have filled, from the services of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, subspecialties, Hospitalists, Geriatricians

Obtains detailed sign-out from the APP teams, to assist in evening cross-coverage and any medical issues the APP teams need to follow up

To convey pertinent patient medical problems to the covering attending so a medical treatment plan can be formed

Admit patients to the inpatient medicine service from the Emergency Room, ICU, or direct admission pathways

Obtains a detailed medical history and performs a complete physical examination

Provides for further data collection

Completes all medical record documentation, including assessment/plan
