Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is currently seeking qualified summer interns in their Anchorage office. This internship provides a paid 12-week opportunity for qualified shareholders and descendants to gain experience through administrative and clerical tasks while receiving guidance and mentorship from professional personnel.

Responsibilities

Provide office support functions including word processing, filing, copying, composing a variety of business documents, gathering, and compiling data, proofreading documents, and balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Receive guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments

Participate in Intern Program activities such as training sessions, group meetings, intern projects and team building

Collaborate directly with supervisor(s), colleague(s) and/or other internal staff in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems

Identify problems and implement or recommend solutions

Interact respectfully with supervisors, officials, peers, other employees, and the public

Learn and adapt to modern technology as it relates to office practices and procedures

Maintain confidentiality of information

Work effectively despite interruptions and demonstrate attention to detail

Plan, organize, and prioritize work as directed by supervisor

Use a computer/laptop, related software, transcribing equipment, and other standard office equipment

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required

Applicants must be a BSNC original shareholder or direct lineal descendant

Applicants must be a current full-time college student, high school graduate who has been accepted to a college or vocational/technical school and plan to attend in the fall, or a recent college graduate

Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
