Material Planner

The Material Planner will play a key role in managing material demand planning processes, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless material acquisition and delivery for vehicle missions and programs.

Responsibilities

Partner with Sourcing/Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Integration, Test, and Launch teams to derive material demand from complex multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) and schedules
Generate material requirement signals and collaborate with Procurement to develop actionable material acquisition strategies
Manage the mission-by-mission 'Material Readiness' process, providing real-time visibility into material supply and demand while ensuring alignment between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams
Develop and implement material allocation strategies/models for constrained or at-risk materials based on company priorities and supply conditions
Quantify material forecasts that inform Sourcing’s immediate and medium-term material acquisition strategies, ensuring the smooth flow of materials through the production lifecycle
Participate in the development of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and processes within ERP platforms, increasing automation and accuracy in end-to-end planning operations

Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in material planning, demand planning, fulfillment planning, or similar roles in fast-paced manufacturing, aerospace, or supply chain environments
Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, finance, accounting, quality, and executive management
Strong understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), including key inputs (e.g., material attributes, demand, supply) and how MRP functions within ERP systems like Infor LN, SAP, or Oracle
Experience creating and managing demand forecasts and incorporating necessary data inputs for accurate material planning
Familiarity with BOM (Bill of Materials) reconciliation
Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or advanced Excel techniques
Experience with New Product Development (NPD) or New Product Introduction (NPI)
Experience with design release processes and systems
Background in aerospace, frontier technology industries, or manufacturing environments
