Responsibilities
Lead and perform electrical engineering for all aspects of projects with limited guidance
Assist with design, integration, installation, and support of manufacturing equipment, control systems, and data acquisition systems
Modify electrical control circuits and PLC/HMI programs
Work with the maintenance team in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, control systems, and data acquisition breakdowns
Partner with Health, Safety, and Environmental team to ensure compliance with standards, practices, and policies for pollution control
Determine root cause failure analysis and development of corrective action plans
Prepare and review technical electrical specifications for equipment and processes
Assist facility with manufacturing operations as well as the execution of electrical safety initiatives
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance procedures
Apply Six Sigma, SPC, Lean, 5S, and TPM applications
Ensure compliance with all safety/environmental standards and promote safe work practices
Respond to maintenance issues with equipment and control systems in support of a 24/7 operation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Practical experience in Allen-Bradley AC variable speed drives
Experience in maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC systems
Solid knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications (including programming) along with communications within enterprise and control networked systems
Experience with industrial database systems (WonderWare)
Knowledge of Siemens PLCs
Experience in VMWare
Knowledge of servers and thin client technology
Demonstrated ability to provide solutions to basic project and process engineering problems
Solid analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems
Demonstrated knowledge in the application of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace — arc flash energy and shock hazards
Demonstrated capabilities in working collaboratively with internal and external engineering resources
Demonstrated experience in the engineering and implementation of 480V (Switchgear, Power Distribution Panel, Motor Control Center) and 4160V Power Distribution Systems
Experience in electrical power distribution, equipment, protection, and sizing
Proficient in computer applications and analysis of process data
CAD (AutoCAD) experience and ability to read and interpret electrical and control drawings
Ability to visually inspect and troubleshoot electrical/process control systems
Ability to be physically mobile throughout the Spunbond Process (stairs, heat, noise)
Ability to safely lift material weights up to 50 pounds
Ability to travel periodically, domestically and internationally
Ability to work extended hours as necessary to complete work assignments
Preferred
Experience in polymer science or textile manufacturing is a plus
Experience in Siemens variable speed drives / European control schemes is a plus
Six Sigma certification is a plus
