Activities Aide (Short-Term Opportunity)
Arcadia Settlements Group is a local non-profit organization committed to providing senior living excellence. They are seeking an Activities Aide to contribute to the planning, organization, and facilitation of engaging activities for residents at their Health Care Center.

Responsibilities
Performs essential duties in accordance with Arcadia Family of Company’s mission, vision, values and guideposts
Facilitates scheduled group activities as developed by the Activities Supervisor
Participates in evaluating, improving and creating activities to ensure that each resident’s psychosocial well-being is maintained and spiritual, physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs are met
Facilitates activities in a manner that allows all residents to participate based on their capabilities, needs and interests
Evaluates and records residents’ participation in activity programs
Conducts individualized and meaningful 1:1 visits in accordance with each resident’s care plan and documents the content of the visits
Encourages and assists residents with participation in leisure activities of choice
Observes and communicates to appropriate staff changes in residents’ mood, behaviors and needs
Respects, observes and follows residents’ rights and privacy, and ensures residents’ dignity
Assists with planning, coordinating and accompanying residents on outings as scheduled
Keeps all work and storage areas clean, tidy and organized on an ongoing basis
Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook
Ensures departmental compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines
Qualification
Required
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency in using a computer including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and other applicable software applications
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell
Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
