Electronics Service Technician
Rapiscan Systems, Inc. is a trusted provider of advanced radiation measurement systems for critical infrastructure. The Electronics Service Technician is responsible for performing in-house diagnostics and repairs of electronic components, including handling RMA processes and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities
Performs repairs on customer returned electronic components. This shall include reproducing the fault, isolating the fault, conducting the necessary repairs and acceptance testing
Install bootloaders, program FPGAs and install firmware as required for the vast array of products supported. Maintain a record of firmware versions required by each customer
Ability to handle radioactive sources
Assist with system installations in the field when necessary. This may involve travel
Follow RMA process to completion
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the RMA database (e.g., part description, serial number, fault, evaluation date, repair status, failure(s) found, repairs made, acceptance tests performed,)
Works with Engineering to develop Acceptance Test Plans for all repaired components
Work with Engineering to maintain an understanding of all existing electronics and detector operations
Maintains Service stock levels and parts ordering, when necessary. Anticipate future needs and ensure escalation of critical and time sensitive materials issues
Maintains Service stock of new/repaired electronics and components for repair (MRB)
Perform daily updates to the inventory, shipping and receiving records, and logs to maintain accuracy
Build, maintain and manage professional and consistent customer relationships
Compile parts data reports for Service, Engineering, and Sales when needed
Ability to prepare, analyze, and review all Service-related documentation

It is the responsibility of every Rapiscan Systems employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree in Electronics or the equivalent documented electronics technical training or experience
Three (3) or more years of experience testing electronics systems and superior understanding of software/firmware/hardware interactions
Thorough knowledge of microprocessor theory and troubleshooting experience
Thorough knowledge of engineering prints, diagrams, specifications, and schematics
Must possess manual dexterity and manipulative skills necessary to proficiently perform required duties
Ability to read, understand and implement verbal and/or written instructions, requirements, procedures, and specifications in relation to the task to be performed
Ability to work independently, relate and communicate both inside and outside of the department
Skills required in surface mount soldering, reading schematics, utilizing test equipment, and ability to identify components
Preferred
IPC Certification in soldering
