Responsibilities
Serve as a senior advisor to the CTO and technology leadership, shaping enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap
Translate high-level institutional vision into actionable architecture roadmaps and milestones
Drive alignment between business, research, and clinical priorities to ensure cohesive technology planning
Develop and enforce architecture principles, governance models, and escalation processes
Map current-state technologies against the future-state platform landscape to inform modernization roadmaps
Lead vendor evaluations, RFP processes, and platform strategy assessments for new technology initiatives
Define and standardize solution and integration architecture templates across programs
Deliver comprehensive architecture designs supporting research, clinical, and administrative initiatives
Develop security and privacy architectures aligned with regulatory and institutional requirements
Prepare executive-level presentations articulating roadmap progress and platform direction
Partner closely with leadership across IT, clinical, and research domains to ensure architecture integrity and execution discipline
Influence and mentor cross-functional teams to adopt architectural best practices
Provide oversight to project delivery teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
Participate in strategic planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery efforts
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, healthcare IT trends, and vendor capabilities
Foster strategic partnerships with technology vendors and academic or industry collaborators
Leverage analytics and data-driven insights to inform design decisions and measure outcomes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in technology architecture and enterprise solution design
Proven experience as a Principal Solution Architect or equivalent senior-level architecture role
Demonstrated ability to lead architecture across multiple large-scale transformation programs
Broad understanding of EHR, ERP, cloud, integration, security, and digital ecosystems
Expertise in architecture frameworks, standards, and methodologies
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with proven executive influence
Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization
Deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance in complex environments
Preferred
Master's degree in a related field
Prior experience in healthcare, medical education, or research settings
Hands-on experience with technology planning for new facility design and implementation
Experience building and managing strategic vendor or partner relationships
Familiarity with academic health systems or higher-education healthcare environments is a plus
