[Summer 2026] Education - K-12 Initiatives Internship
The Whitney Museum of American Art is offering a Summer 2026 internship focused on K-12 initiatives. The intern will assist with educational programs, support school groups, and contribute to research and event management.

Responsibilities
Help prepare for programs by collecting and organizing art supplies
Work with the Museum’s Freelance Educators to assist with K-12 school groups visiting the museum for guided tours and virtual programs
Assist School Programs staff in small-scale research projects, including data collection & analysis
Conduct research for new exhibitions and create resource packets for Freelance Educators
Assist Educator Programs staff with professional development workshops and other School Program events
Assist in managing the School Programs calendar, website and mailing list
Qualification
Required
The candidate should be organized and outgoing, with an interest in working with school and teacher audiences
Undergraduates currently enrolled in accredited academic year programs are eligible
Previous museum experience is not required
Preferred
While a demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply
Candidates with experience working with children of different ages and a desire to learn more about inquiry-based teaching in the galleries are a plus
