Responsibilities
Carry out cutting-edge research in radio interface design including physical layer, radio interface architecture and L2-4 protocols for next generation mobile communications systems
Research, analyze and evaluate cellular systems and develop wireless protocols and algorithm designs using theoretical analysis, link-level, or system-level simulations for 6G and beyond
Implement wireless protocols and associated algorithms in a MATLAB or Sionna based testbench to support various features for 6G and beyond
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and/or technical papers surveying state of the art, describing design and development efforts, and presenting evaluation results
Drive technology generation and disclosure writing and supporting patent applications and downstream support
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering or related field
Strong analytical and research skills
Strong background and experience in wireless communications fundamentals, communication theory, networking and digital signal processing including data processing through PHY, data link layer, network layer and transport layer
Strong system level and/or link level simulations background with high proficiency in MATLAB or Sionna and source control tool (e.g., GitHub)
Dedicated, result oriented professional with an attitude for getting the job done
Ability to thrive in an innovative, dynamic, and research-oriented work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
Preferred
Research experience in wireless communications, and AI/ML with a track record of peer-reviewed publications
Familiarity with cellular systems standards (3GPP 4G LTE and 5G)
