CONTROL TECHNICIAN - ELECTRONICS SHOP
The University of Washington is seeking a Control Technician for their Electronics Shop at Harborview Medical Center. The role involves skilled work in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical controls for fire alarm systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities
Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, fire safety equipment, and related controls
Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration control systems
Fabricate and install temperature and humidity controls; assist with system design
Use specialized tools for repair and calibration
Troubleshoot and repair central supervisory control components
Manage inventory of control parts and components
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Completion of a four-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee; OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems
Vocational or trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when restricted by licensing or certification requirements
Fire alarm NICET and FA-1 certified
Low voltage electrician (EL06)
Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams
Troubleshoot active and non-active low voltage electronic systems, cameras, access controls, fire alarm, panic, duress, etc
