Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of engineering documents for aircraft interior and secondary structure modifications— including detail, assembly, and installation drawings, specifications, and substantiation reports
Oversee the design integration, installation, and certification coordination for interior components, collaborating with suppliers, production teams, and regulatory stakeholders
Research and evaluate components for compliance with design requirements; coordinate with suppliers to ensure technical accuracy
Contribute to statements of work and support bid activities for new customer projects
Partner with service center personnel to troubleshoot build, modification, and testing challenges; create deviation drawings and engineering resolutions as needed
Communicate design intent clearly both verbally and through detailed technical documentation
Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure program success
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or at least 5 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in aviation
Strong working knowledge of aircraft interior systems, including ECS, potable/waste water systems, and other integrated commodities
Proficiency in CATIA (required); experience with AutoCAD is a plus
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Knowledge of certification rules for FAA, EASA, and TCCA
Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Strength in communicating design intent and resolving complex design challenges
