Responsibilities

Developing and improving manufacturing processes in the Propellant Mix/Cast area
Spending time in the operations area observing and monitoring propellant mixing and casting processes
Performing cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defects
Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning
Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and to the customers for review and approval
Performing table top reviews
Using SPC tools to ensure process control
Developing and incorporating process improvements
Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions
Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment
Assist in the process development and manufacturing of propellant premix, propellant mixing chemical synthesis, and AP grinding for various programs

Required

Candidate with 0 to 2 years of engineering experience for level 1
Candidate with 2 years of engineering experience for level 2
Self-Starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision
Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills
Experience writing shop planning (Electronic Shop Instructions (ESI) experience a plus)
Process Controls (SPC)
Interpreting blue prints and specifications
Good problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
Good organization and multi-tasking skills
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA)
B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered)
