Principal Electrical Engineer

They are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical engineering practice, develop and deliver complex projects, and grow the team while acting as a thought leader in the industry.

Responsibilities

Lead delivery of complex projects for specific offerings/verticals/clients
Leads development, with internal and external partners, of best-in-class design delivery
Act as a thought-leader and subject matter expert internally and represents McKinstry as a respected name in the industry
Lead strategic Engineering & Design group initiatives
Engage in all aspects of business development and sales
Develop and build strong customer relationships
Build and execute on appropriate sales and proposal strategies
Grow the electrical team and support recruiting by organizing and leading interviews for higher-level positions

Required

Four-year college degree required; master's degree or other advanced degree preferred
Professional Engineering License required
Minimum 18+ years of overall professional experience
Project Management: 10+ years
People Management: 10+ years
Demonstrated proficiency in the following: Design of complex power and other building systems including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, uninterruptible power systems, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding
Familiarity with industry standard software (Revit, SKM, ETAP, Easy Power, etc.) to review models and studies such as: Load flow studies, fault calculations, Arc Flash, overcurrent coordination studies, duct bank calculations, harmonic studies, etc
Strong public speaking ability
Demonstrated executive presence
Proven team leadership capabilities
Strategic thinking and decision-making skills

master's degree or other advanced degree preferred
