Cover major culture-driving news involving public figures (e.g., legal updates, controversies, or widely-discussed events) with sensitivity and clarity
Monitor trending topics and social conversations to spot emerging story opportunities
Fact-check and source responsibly, especially for sensitive stories
Use SEO best practices while keeping writing natural and engaging
Qualification
Required
Experience writing culture, celebrity, or entertainment content for reputable publications
Strong sense of what's trending, what readers care about, and what's driving conversation
Ability to write polished, compelling copy quickly
Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing tools
Great headline instincts
Preferred
Experience tracking social media trends and viral moments
Comfort writing both quick turnaround stories and longer features
Ability to pitch creative angles on fast-moving news
