Epic Professional Billing Analyst

Fortis Hayes is seeking a certified and experienced Epic Professional Billing Analyst to join their team. The role involves configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Epic Professional Billing module to ensure accurate billing and efficient claims processing, which directly impacts the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

Configure, customize, and maintain the Epic Professional Billing application, including components such as the Charge Router, Workqueues, Collection Agency Workflows, Statement Processing, Benefit Engine, and Estimates to meet specific business needs
Build, test, and migrate system changes to production. Act as the primary support contact for application end-users, providing troubleshooting and resolving issues related to billing, claims, and reimbursement. Provide rotating on-call support
Analyze existing financial and revenue cycle workflows to identify and implement leading-practice improvements. Collaborate with IT, finance, and clinical stakeholders to ensure the Epic system aligns with and enhances business operations
Develop and conduct training for end-users on Epic Professional Billing functionality and workflows. Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations and internal procedures
Maintain required Epic certifications and stay current with new Epic technologies and updates. Manage compliance with industry standards, including electronic claim formats (X12 4010/5010) and medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT). Assess the impact of new Epic releases and recommend implementation strategies

Required

Current certification in Epic's Professional Billing module is required
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Epic Professional Billing Analyst, including direct configuration and build experience
Proven, in-depth knowledge of Epic's Professional Billing module, including demonstrated experience with Charge Router configuration, Workqueue management, Collection Agency Workflows, Statement Processing, Benefit Engine and Estimates
Strong understanding of end-to-end healthcare revenue cycle processes, medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance procedures
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

Preferred

Experience with system implementation and upgrade projects
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail
Superior interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage tasks and projects effectively
