Responsibilities

Customer Engagement: Work alongside Energy Advisors and vSEM coaches to analyze customer load profiles and find low / no-cost curtailment strategies that align with specific business operations at each facility. Analyzing interval energy use data and working with customers to discover energy efficiency opportunities will also be a regular component of this role
Technical Resource Development and Training: Contribute to research and documentation to help shape internal resources and best practices for technical engagement. Monitor the performance of Energy Advisors, collaborating with the Technical Team manager to identify training needs and opportunities for professional development
Measurement and Verification (M&V): Partner with the internal M&V team to evaluate and communicate performance results of both peak shaving and energy use reduction. In some cases, this would include assisting Energy Advisors and vSEM Coaches with resolving technical issues with the customer
Training and Professional Development: Learning & training on additional technical skills to prepare to be a dynamic contributor to other programs outside of vSEM
Customer Engagement: Review past projects to identify trends and lessons learned. Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex issues as they arise
Contribute to Training and Professional Development: Collaborate with team members to develop internal resources and best practices for technical engagement, as well as training materials for non-technical staff. Contribute to technical trainings in retro-commissioning and energy efficiency for other technical team members. Ongoing learning & training on additional technical skills to prepare to be a dynamic contributor to VCx and vSEM, and other programs

Required

PE (US) or P. Eng. License, or possess engineer-in-training status from an accredited engineering program Bachelor's degree
3+ years experience in implementing solutions for peak load management (Peak Shaving), Demand Response strategy planning or other Utility DSM programs that target peak load management
Some experience in BAS controls, existing building commissioning or similar energy efficiency work with large customers is highly desired
Knowledge of Technical strategies and utility program implementation mechanisms for peak load management and/or demand response is required
Knowledge of utility-side value considerations for peak load DSM programs is a big plus
Substantial knowledge of industrial / manufacturing facility operations, as well as commercial HVAC systems (e.g., HVAC, controls, lighting) is also strongly preferred
Excellent facilitation and communication abilities for presenting technical material to non-technical audiences
Strong analytical skills and experience with data interpretation
Self-starter with strong initiative and project management skills
A bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program or other 4-year science degree with equivalent engineering work experience is required
Must be comfortable working independently in a 100% virtual environment

Preferred

Preference will be given for candidates with on-site field experience at both commercial and industrial facilities
CEM, CMVP, CDSM, CPE, or equivalent certification is preferred
Interest and passion for energy efficiency consulting & making a positive difference
4+ years experience as per above
Some technical working proficiency with commercial HVAC controls sequence implementation in various BAS platforms is desired
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is preferred
CEM, CxA, BCxP, CPE, or equivalent certification is required
